Standing quitley as Jessica tacked him in his racing tack Outlaw chewed at some oats hung in a bucket from his stall door. Side stepping as she soon lifted his head and slide his black halter down his neck he snorted and bobbed his head"hold still now won't you buddy"She giggled tickling the inside of his mouth and his jaws snapped opened and she pushed the bit in and put the reast of the bridle on his head. She unclipped his halter and he yet again side stepped but now turning his butt to the back of the barn. She smirked and lead him out, he had a sort of side step, with his head leaning into her sholder. She had always wished for this, a great racer with a long, collected stride. She was now wearing jeans tucked into her boots and a white t-shirt with a black helmet. She was happy to be able to get out of those riding tights. She opened the white gate onto the track having no one to have open the gate for her, so she mounted and started at a trott. His head high and proud and ears flicking back listening for her commands. She trott him for about 10 minutes and then trott him to the gates, she did not enter them but stood him infront of them and tapped her heels twice and he bolted forwards, her hands were rapped in his mane so she would not fly off when he started forwards. She un rapped her hands and kept her legs bent and held her butt up form hitting the saddle. She listened to his breathing, like a train.
His ears were now back and his head loward slightly and like she dreamed, his long collected strides were speeding down the track with no worries in her mind like she had when jumping with her last horse. She could never be too sure if he was going to chicken out before the jump, get exited and show off by trying to hard and almost killing himself on the jump. But no this was different, it was a rounded sand path she had to follow staying right next to the fence.

Rachel stood at the edge of the fence and watched as a horse sped by, kicking up dirt behind him. She watched on in wonder, her head resting on folded arms. She was lost in thought, but aware of her surroundings. Blue was stalking some imaginary prey in the tall grass behind her.

Snorting as Jessica pulled him to a trott Outlaw tossed his head back and whinnyed slowing to a slow two beat rythm. Jessica noticed Rachel and smiled then trott him to the fence where she was"Hey Rachel"She greeted and she pat Outlaw's neck"You like him?, my dad sold Texas and bought me him"She added and dismounted keeping a tight grip on the reins. The tall colt watched the other horse stalk in the grass and snorted and side danced. Jessica turned to look at him and smiled, she was very proud of her fast colt.

Rachel smiled back shyly. "Yeah, are you going to race him?" She asked, stroking his nose gently. Blue popped her head up, reeds of grass hanging out of one side of her mouth. She snorted as her eyes fell upon the horse, and immediately she arched her neck and pranced out on the grass,s stopping beside Rachel. Rachel lifted the halter she had been holding and sipped it over the Morab's face, just in case.

Jessica smiled and stroked Outlaw's neck and smiled"Definatley"She said planning big plans of his racing in her head. Mounting back up she tapped him to a walk next to Blue and pet her neck"Wanna bring her on the track for a bit, i would like him to train with another horse for a bit"She added and sat up straight"If you would like to, i will be at the house, he will be tied up outside on the post, just come tell me and we will go"She spoke and loped him to the house and tied him to the post and ran in the house and grabbed a sandwich April made her and began to eat it.

Rachel nodded and her smile widened. A rare sight. She looped the lead rope lightly over the rail then jogged towards the stable grabbing Blue's tack. She had an endurance saddle, an all purpose saddle and a jumping saddle. Rachel took the endurance and a snaffle bridle. After Blue was tacked up Rachel jogged her towards the house, then decided to warm her up first. After about five minutes of cantering she came back to the house and popped her head in, looking for Jessica.

Jessica just finished eating and waved to Rachel"ready?"Answering her own question she grabbed her whip and pulled her boots on then ran outside and untied his reins and mounted up and trott him to the track and entered it, Just in time for April who was jogging behind her"Jessica, i will open the gates for you guys!" She offered and Jessica nodded and entered one of the starting gates; the third one. Outlaw nickered loudly and pawed at the ground, Jessica wrapped her hand in his mane for take off.

Rachel cantered Blue to the track, slowing her upon entering the strating gate. She balked a bit, not used to it, but eventually calmed. Rachel lowered her body and positioned her hands on the reins, letting out just enough slack.

Jessica nodded and April opened the gates and right away Outlaw raced out launching from his hind quarters onto his fron, much like a jump. Soon his long strides, glued ears, and flared nostrils flared, once again Jessica listened to the train like breathing, it was quite soothing.

Blue sped out, but seemed to take her time. She was an endurance horse, so knew how to measure out her energy over twenty miles. This petty one mile was something she didn't percieve. Rachel urged her into full speed, so she was gaining ground. Yet, no matter her spreed, Outlaw stayed at least a lengths in front, but Blue cared little. She would move towards the inside rail and run along it, her long legs measuring cleverly.

Outlaw being a thoroughbred was built for speed and to run long distances without tiring. His muscles helped him quite a bit too, Jessica whipped him on the last strech and his legs streched out farther and farther at each stride, muscles ripped from his coat. Soon he crossed the finish line and Jessica slowed him to a slow lope than a trott.

Blue was looking to the sides, unaware of the fact that she was supposed to keep up a fast pace. Rachel was getting fed up. She gave her a sharp tweak on the rein, and a kick with her heels. Blue understood. Her legs were a blur over the ground, taking a breath per stride, tail waving out like a banner. This was normally reserved for the last part in an endurance race, so Blue was confused. They crossed the line, Rachel slowing her mare to an easy trot. She cooled her down, walking in wide circles and ovals, serpentines and figure eights. Blue snorted and pawed every time she came near Outlaw so rachel explained to Jessica, "She really doesn't like stallions. Only Rogue, but otherwise she only listens to mares."

Jessica smiled, there was no way she could beat Outlaw even if she was a endurance racer, he had made it to the breeders cup and was moving on"That's alright"She replyed pulling him back to a walk and patting his neck, he untensed his neck in a sort of thanks manner to her pat on the neck.

The Arabian blood in Blue Dancer's veins allowed her to run up to 30 miles at a time and still keep reasonable speed. Rachel had found it a hard transition from her old Quarter Horse, who are sprinters, to this energy filled filly. Now she had gotten used to her, and so they made a good team in jumping or endurance.

Blue nickered and dropped her head, bringing it up sharply. Rachel jerked back on the reins, telling her to knock it off. Blue ignored her. She crow-hopped, picked up and dropped each hoof in turn, turned a complete circle then backed up. Rachel sat on her back looking annoyed. She kicked her side and pulled her into a one rein turn, trotted her in a small circle then pulled her head into a lateral flex.
