'No!!' Outlaw seemed to scream as a man lead both him and Jessica into the starting gate and the colt looked to the other horses, his whites showing, he snorted loudly and pawed at the ground turning hish ead to study the track. Jessica also studied the track, she knew that Outlaw hated to be boxed in between two horses in a race and that if he was boxed in he would do anything to get out from between them, she she knew that she would have to keep him from being boxed in.
The ebony colt had his ears pinned back already, waiting for the gates to open, and the bell to go off. But there were still at least another 5 horses to enter the gates, he was in the 6th gate. Jessica gripped onto his short mane and looked to the jockeys next to her, they both were older, and both were male. She had her whip tucked under her armpit and wanted to get out just as much as Outlaw did.

The rest of the horses were now in and it was quiet the crowed, the horses everything!
Jessica's fingers were wrapped around his mane and the crowds fingers were gripped on their bidding tickets. The favorite was a grey colt named crowed pleaser So Jessica knew that Outlaw would at least need to beat him. She pulled her gagules over her eyes and got ready for the gate to open, But she bent ober the side to scratch a ich, and the gate flew open. Like he was sapposed to Outlaw sprang forward realizing she was sittign on a slant he nickered, and she got her ballance back. He then streched his strides long to catch up with the other horses, and he did. The train sound of his breathing calmed Jessica, It made her less nervious. They now passed a bay colt and moved on to a chestnut, then passed him. There were 10 horses all together, so to get to the crowd favorite who was in third right now would take some time. Jessica let go of his mane and he sprang forwards some more, running ahead of a very dark bay colt, the jockey looked to Jessica and looked surprised to see a female jockey with a bunch of guy jockeys. Jessica did not seem to care at all, she jsut kept her eyes on the track, not wanting Outlaw to be boxed in. The anouncer was real loud in the stands, but on the track you could barley hear him, or maybe it was the helmet. Jessica could hear a muffled mumble saying"Beat The Clock is making his way to the front" It was true right now we were in fith place and they were on the last strech, Jessica almost grinned and fliked out her whip, She snapped it lightly on his black rump and Outlaw almost jumped forwards, his strides longer, now in forth, then passing the third horse and not had to catch up to the crowd favorite who was in second and the lead horse, they were pretty far up. She whipped over and over about 6 times and that really got him going. They caught up to the gray one and were slightly behind eachother, The jockey looked to be, and he seemed to dare me. I took the dare.
Both at the same time we began to whip again both Outlaw and the gray horse bolted forwards passing the lead horse, the gray on the rail, the lead horse in the middle, and Oulaw on the end. As they went around the turn Outlaw slowley fell behind but caught back up. It was now Outlaw and they gray colt. They were nose to nose now, almost at the same beat, but the gray's were not as long. All of a sudden Outlaw seemed to get a boost, this is what his owner was telling her about, he loved to show off at the last second. He shot forwards taking the lead and the gray colt dropped back behind quite a bit. The camera flashed "And Beat the clock is our winner!" The anouncer called as Jessica hummed, humming seemed to sooth Outlaw, he slowed to a fast trott, very proud of his win, his head head high, ears perked and a sort of side stepping trott like he usaully had. A lead pony loped up at side and grabbed onto the side of the reins, Outlaw's cheek bones now rubbing on the other horses head, he had to!
Jessica could not stop smiling as the crowed screamed. She looked to the man on the lead pony and told him he could go. She stopped Outlaw and dismounted and grabbed onto the reins close to the mouth and lead him out of the track waving to the crowd. Like usaul he was all sweaty, but he looked good like that. Jessica had a man come hold onto him and she took off his saddle and put his nice stable blanket on and lead him out to the winners circle. She had the same man boost her up onto Outlaw's back and held up the trophy, it was huge, and gold at that. Outlaw seemed to pose for the picture, he rested his back leg and tapped his front over and over again like he was counting, so when the picture was taken it looked like his leg was lifted into the air.
Jessica pat his neck and lead him to the stall he was using and put his halter on, he opened his mouth sort of streching his jaw from the hard bit he had in, and scratched it against Jessica's arm almost throwing her over"Whoa boy!"she laughed and lead him out, many people were there to take his picture.
Soon she loaded him and his trophy and tack into the trailer keeping his stable coat on and drove home.
